General
Lay women are not permitted to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion in Poland.
Abstinence from meat remains the rule on Fridays. Other penitential practices may also be adopted, including almsgiving and caring for the poor.
At Mass
Approach the priest or Extraordinary Minister reverently and in silence.
Receive the Host on your cupped hands or directly on the tongue.
Children who have not been confirmed may not receive the Host in their hands or receive from the chalice.
Consume the Host immediately in the presence of the minister. Never walk away while holding it.
Do not dip the Host into the Precious Blood yourself.
Receiving from the chalice is not compulsory.
